Welcome to The First Congregational United Church of Christ where our worship style is traditional but our theology is progressive. Our congregation is a gathering of people who seek the face of God in the spirit and likeness of Jesus. We believe that Jesus calls us to participate in God’s plan of peace, justice and creation care.

While many churches claim to be a “come as you are church” or a “journey church’” few will actually practice that in terms of diversity. We practice an “Extravagant Welcome” to all in that we not only welcome everyone regardless to class level, race, gender, sexual identities, or ability level.

Poky First Church was established in December 1888. We are the oldest church in Pocatello.

Not only is everyone welcome to sit in our beautiful sanctuary but, all are also are invited to lead in ministries, worship, governance, and live out the full covenant of Christian life. Our doors and our communion table are open to all who seek the face of the Christ.
